St. John Primary/ St. Theresa Middle Technology Updates
Last year, the administrative team as well as the IT department began dreaming about implementing a 1:1 technology initiative that would bring our students closer to being college and career ready. This week those dreams became a reality as students on both campuses walked into classrooms that were equipped with laptops and iPads for instructional use.
Teachers and students worked hard this summer to ensure that they would be ready. Pk-8th grade teachers were trained by Apple and Google certified trainers from AXI Educational Solutions. Our 6th-8th grade teacher training focused on Google Suites for Education and Google Classroom while our Pk-5th grade teacher training focused on effective iPad usage and instructional apps such as Seesaw and Apple Classroom.
Our students also were trained during summer training sessions. These sessions included procedures for proper laptop care, troubleshooting, and an introduction to the Chrome Browser.
Students this week on both campuses have been seen using iPads and laptops to collaborate and create. We are looking forward to watching our teachers and students grow in their knowledge this year!
