Volunteers

Child Protection Requirements

Volunteers and chaperones for St. John Primary and St. Theresa School are invaluable to our school. All room mothers/fathers, field trip chaperones, and anyone who has the potential to be alone with a child, are mandated by the Diocese of Baton Rouge to complete certain requirements to be a volunteer. This information can be found at the Diocese of Baton Rouge's website, Office of Child and Youth Protection, http://www.diobrocyp.org.

Requirements for Certification to work with Minors

1. Complete an EAPPS Application
2. Submit to a criminal background screening [LA STATE POLICE BACKGROUNG CHECK W-FINGERPRINTS: Volunteer fingerprinting and background check, $36 ($10 money order and $26 check to LA State Police) Employee fingerprinting and background check, $45.25 ($10 money order and $35.25 check to LA State Police) ]
3. Complete Safe and Sacred online training
4. Read the Code of Ethics and Behavior for Adults who Minister with Minors in the Diocese of Baton Rouge/sign the acknowledgement form

All paperwork must be completed, turned in to school and background check must be received before volunteering. Contact Kim Lacinak, with any questions.
